Long Term Disability Insurance Protection: Medical Help
Do you have a doctor that you see regularly? If not, now's the time to select one. It's important to see the same doctor regularly, as he/she will be able to give you better treatments since he/she will be more intimate with your medical history.
Generally, the type of doctor you need to see depends on your current
health and medical history. For the most part, doctors' services fall
into two categories -- primary care or specialty care.
Primary Care - Many people choose a primary care doctor for their
general health care needs. They're trained to treat a wide variety of
conditions. They are also able to refer to you to a specialist as needed.
Specialty Care - This type of doctor has a narrower field of
expertise. They complete the same amount of schooling as a primary care
doctor, plus graduate school in a specialized field.
You can learn about a doctor's credentials by checking the American
Medical Directory or the Directory of American Specialists by calling
the American Board of Medical Specialties at 1-800-776-2378.
